About

Hi, I'm Tayyeb. Second-year Cyber Security student based in Birmingham.

This summer I'm joining National Gas as a Cyber Security Analyst Intern, working with their SOC team on Critical National Infrastructure. Most of my technical work sits somewhere between security operations, web dev, and building things from scratch.

Outside that, I spend a lot of time running student communities. I founded Unihack, a hackathon organisation that's grown to cover multiple UK universities, with events, workshops, and industry partnerships along the way.

I also built BCU Innovation Labs at STEAMhouse, a startup programme for student founders. I designed the curriculum, ran the workshops, brought in mentors, and put on a live pitch day. A lot of it was figuring things out as we went.

I co-founded Zentic Health, a multilingual health platform for older adults and communities that mainstream health apps tend to overlook. NHS-aligned, won a couple of awards, and built mostly from scratch.

I also teach Cyber Security Fundamentals lab sessions as a Visiting Demonstrator, while finishing my own degree.

Outside of all this, I travel when I can and usually have a side project on the go.
